The Chapter Format

I'm going to try something new with my journals, I'm going to number the things that I want to talk about before I talk about them. That way, I stay on track with my entries and don't go on to meaningless tangents. Also, you can see at a glance whether or not you want to invest the time to read.

1) Getting a girl over Christmas
2) Pictures and letters from P&K
3) My weekend
4) Determined to have friends

Yes... you read it right. Getting a girl over Christmas... and those of you who read my diary know what that means. My dry spell ended! Over Christmas, I had a good old time with my friend Gloria. I was so nervous at first. It had been so long. So after a couple of tequilla shots, I fell back into it like an old pro. It was good to be ACTIVELY bi again. It's a little piece of me that stays quite hidden... MORE hidden than the Holly thing, which I find to be wild. See, I have absolutely no reason to feel bad about censoring myself. I do it every day when I see an attractive woman. So, anyway, that's big news that I missed out on telling you in my last entry.

In other news, I got a letter from P&K. Their whole family is moving to PA to take over ownership of the family business, a seasonal recreational facility (pool, water slides, snack bar, meeting space, etc). It will be good for her to grow up in a family business. But the news hit me like a TON of bricks. She won't grow up in TX. It was really sad at first. I drank way too much and cried buckets. But, in the end, there's this realization that I really need to get ahold of myself. If I can't get a card or pictures without losing it, I really need to tell the agency to put them on hold. They will hold stuff until which time I'm ready to look at them.

Other than the whole picture thing, my weekend was AWESOME! Really, it was the best ever. Friday night, J and I went out for drinks with a media rep of mine and one of her friends. We went to this great restaurant with a huge patio. I made a new friend out of that, a couple of them really. S is going to come by my house and learn to homebrew beer. So is Y. Y is taking her GMAT soon too, so we have something in common. Also, Y lives in Dallas and works in FW, like I do. So, yet another thing to talk about. Saturday, J and I had our friends Jenn and L over for dinner. J made lemon chicken, fruited rice (yum), and green beans. I learned how to make cosmos that knock socks off. Whoo hoo. Jenn and L went by a bakery and brought 4 mini desserts for us to all share. We were stuffed! But the night didn't end there. Then we went to the symphony. I hadn't done anything cultured in awhile, so that was a lot of fun. The music was incredibly moving. Then we wanted to go to Reunion Tower but couldn't find parking. So we ended up at the Hotel ZaZa and the Dragonfly bar. BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! If the Dragonfly wasn't thinspiration, I don't know what is. All the women looked like models. They were all in designer clothes and just looked perfect. Me... I felt like a hippo. But I had fun anyway. They have the BEST chocolate martini. Again... yum. J and I didn't get in until 1:30 a.m., which is late for us married folk. But the great thing is, Jenn invited me to a girls night. I'll get to stay out late with the girls and really have a good time. I missed having female friends. Now, all of the sudden, I'm starting to get a social network going. =-)

You really do have to have friends in this world. I need social contact more than others, I suppose. But husbands don't care about hair, makeup, clothes, exercise, etc. Also, girlfriends are always open to the occasional rant and don't try to fix your issues. That's very important. So yay for having friends who are girls!!!! (And girls I'm not necessarily attracted to... SO much for the better)

And no, I'm not going to annouce my weight. Although, I must say it seems like it would be impossible to gain 2 lbs overnight.
